About Rogue Gain

Rogue Gain is an independent studio building practical software, operational-intelligence tools, and original creative work.

It is one person’s studio, not a large software corporation. That is stated plainly because the work should be judged on what it is.

How the work gets made

Domain knowledge first. Engineering second.

Rogue Gain’s products start from problems that were encountered directly, not from a market analysis. The order matters: understand the operational reality, define precisely what useful software would have to do, then build it.

Rogue Gain combines domain expertise, product direction, and modern AI-assisted engineering to turn practical ideas into working software. That is a deliberate statement rather than a hedge: the tools are part of how the work gets done, and pretending otherwise would fail the first principle on this page.

01

Operational experience

The problems come from managing real field work, not from a whiteboard.

02

Disciplined AI-assisted development

Modern tooling, used with judgment, review, and testing, not as a substitute for knowing what the software has to do.

03

Finished, usable products

An idea is not a product. Rogue Gain ships things people can actually open and use, and says so only once they exist.

Founder

Baadal “Bobby” Kakkad

Baadal “Bobby” Kakkad is the founder of Rogue Gain, the author of Chaos: A Memoir, and a construction operations leader with direct experience managing complex field work, contractors, restoration, damage response, production, and operational risk.

Rogue Gain grew from that practical experience: identifying real problems, defining what useful software should do, and using modern AI-assisted engineering to turn those ideas into finished products. Bobby provides the domain knowledge, product direction, requirements, testing, and operational judgment behind Rogue Gain’s work.

Principles

Truth. Precision. Work.

01

Truth

No inflated claims and no invented certainty. What is finished is called finished; what is still being built is called that. The work should hold up when someone checks.

02

Precision

Products and stories are shaped deliberately, down to the details people actually run into: the second screen, the error state, the sentence that has to carry weight.

03

Work

Ideas only start counting when they become useful, finished things that someone can open, use, and rely on.

The work

Software. Systems. Stories.
